Last fall at the Banff Centre I had the unique opportunity to record engineer Spanner, an experimental duo from Newfoundland Canada. The CD that was produced from the sessions has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award.

Bassist, audio engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Boston, he studied Piano with Ken Cook, and Double Bass with John Lockwood. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 2006 with a BA in Anthropology, concentration in Ethnomusicology, and from The Peabody Conservatory in 2008 with a MA in Audio Science, concentration in Recording and Production. At Peabody, he studied bass with Michael Formanek and Jeff Weisner. He was on the faculty at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and was an audio associate at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada. He has produced recordings for several artists, musicians, and filmmakers. He is currently involved in several ensembles performing nuevo tango, classical music, jazz, folk, gospel, world music, and urban beat.
